Run the numbers. Then talk them through with a real adviser.

Quick estimates to get you started, and a named adviser ready to turn the number into a plan.

Am I on track for the retirement income I want?

This gives you a quick read on whether your pension is heading where you need it to. Put in your age, what you have saved so far, what you pay in each month and the income you would like in retirement, and it shows the likely gap between the two. It takes a couple of minutes and the numbers are yours alone. A calculator can only ever give a rough picture, so the real value is talking the result through with an adviser who can factor in your tax relief, your other pensions and the State pension. Book a pension review with a member of the team and we will turn the estimate into a plan.

Assumes 4% growth a year after charges and ignores inflation, salary increases and the State pension. The capital needed is estimated at 20 times your target income, which is roughly a 5% drawdown. This is an illustration, not financial advice, and not a quote.

What does a pension contribution actually cost me?

Pension contributions get income tax relief at your marginal rate, which means the amount leaving your pocket is smaller than the amount landing in your fund. Enter your age, your earnings and what you pay in each month, and this shows the age-related limit that applies to you, the relief you get, and what the contribution really costs you after it. If you have room left over, it tells you that too. Bring the figure to us and we will set a contribution that uses the relief without overshooting it.

How much more can I pay in this year?

If you are in a company or public-sector scheme, you share one age-related relief limit across everything you pay in, and most people never use all of it. Enter your age, your earnings and what you already contribute, and this shows the room you have left, the relief a top-up would attract, and what it would cost you net. A lump-sum AVC before the October deadline is a common way to use it. We will check the figure against your scheme before you commit to anything.

What would my ARF pay me in retirement?

An ARF keeps your pension invested after you retire while you draw an income from it, and the question that matters is how much you can take without running it down too fast. Enter your fund value, your age and the rate you plan to draw, and this shows the income that produces, alongside the minimum Revenue treats you as drawing whether you take it or not. Income from an ARF is taxed through PAYE, so what reaches you is less again. Talk it through with one of the team and we will set a level built to last.

Imputed distribution rates are 4% from age 60, 5% from age 70, and 6% for ARFs of €2 million or more. Income drawn is taxed as income through PAYE, which is not deducted here. This is an illustration, not financial advice, and not a quote.

How much life insurance do I actually need?

Most people either guess at how much life cover they need or copy a round number, and both tend to be wrong. This builds the figure from what actually matters: your mortgage, other debts, the income your family would need to replace and for how long, less any cover you already have. In a couple of minutes you get a realistic target instead of a guess. Bring it to the team and we will find that cover at the best price across the market, and set it up so it pays out cleanly.

What can I cover, and what does it cost after relief?

Income protection is the one personal policy that attracts income tax relief, so the headline premium overstates what it costs you. Enter your earnings to see the most you can cover, and add a quoted premium to see what it costs after relief at your rate. The State illness benefit is deducted from what an insurer pays, so treat the cover figure as a ceiling. The deferred period and your occupation class matter as much as the price, and that is the part worth a conversation.

Cover is usually capped at 75% of earnings, less any State illness benefit, which is not deducted here. Relief applies to premiums up to 10% of total income. The benefit is taxed as income when paid. This is an illustration, not financial advice, and not a quote.

What could a lump sum grow to?

Money sitting on deposit feels safe and quietly loses value to inflation. Enter an amount, a timeframe and a growth assumption, and this shows what it could be worth, what exit tax would take on the way out, and what you would be left with. Returns are never guaranteed and this is an illustration rather than a forecast. What it is good for is a sense of scale, and a starting point for a conversation about the right structure and the right funds.

Returns are not guaranteed and this is not a forecast. Exit tax of 38% is applied to the gain. The eight-year deemed disposal is not modelled, so tax may fall due earlier than shown. This is an illustration, not financial advice, and not a quote.

What could I build up month by month?

Small amounts compound into meaningful sums given enough time, and this shows you how much of the result is your own money and how much is growth. Enter a monthly amount, the years you plan to save and a growth assumption. Try shortening the term and you will see why starting early matters more than starting big. Once you have a figure that feels sustainable, we will match the fund to your goal and keep the charges honest.

What will auto-enrolment cost my business?

Auto-enrolment adds a new payroll cost for many employers, and this shows you roughly what to expect. Enter your number of employees and their salaries and it works out the employer contribution as the phased rates rise over the first years of the scheme. Use it to budget, and to weigh the State scheme against setting up or improving your own. The figures are indicative; the right scheme depends on your workforce and what you already offer, which is where a 30-minute review with one of the team earns its keep.
